ARGENTINA IS NOT JUST HOME TO THE BEST DOVE HUNTING IN SOUTH AMERICA…

THE DUCK HUNTING IN ARGENTINA IS ALSO FANTASTIC!

Adventurix is proud to offer you the best dove shooting lodges in Argentina, as well as the best Argentina duck hunting locations.  The uniqueness of hunting in this country does not stop with the doves…one can combine a dove hunting trip with a great waterfowl hunting trip that offers a chance to harvest more than seven species of ducks that do not exist in the wild north of the equator—ducks that can only be found in Argentina, or on a Uruguay duck hunting trip.

The good news is that Adventurix offers both.   We have over seven waterfowl hunting lodges available to our customers in Argentina, and four more across the river in Uruguay.  Both destinations are outstanding in their own right, but the duck hunting in Argentina has been a longtime favorite of the serious international wingshooter for decades--and therefore is the focus of this page.

Please see our Argentina duck hunting lodges:

Now that you know that Argentina is famous for more than just the best dove hunting in South America, read on to learn more about the great opportunities for waterfowling--specifically Argentina duck hunting.

Duck Hunting in Argentina

From the Pampas to the marshes of Corrientes, this country offers amazing duck hunting opportunities with every passing province.  The total wetlands areas of Argentina are larger than the state of California, making this amazing wingshooting country the perfect breeding ground for ducks and geese.  The sheer numbers of birds make the waterfowl hunting resource in Argentina inexhaustible (as long as Argentines continue to be non-hunters).

There is truly no end in sight to this waterfowling gem.  The government of Argentina offers long seasons and liberal limits on waterfowl, due to the fact that they destroy the rice and corn crops with their voracious appetites.  Up to the last decade, the ducks were poisoned in the rice fields.  Fortunately, that is now against the law, and wingshooters are welcome for Argentina duck hunting from April to October (A season that closely mirrors the Uruguay duck hunting season: May 1st – September 15th).

Argentina Duck Hunting
How Far Is The Lodge From Buenos Aires?

From Buenos Aires, you have several options for your travel to the lodges: airline flight, charter flight, and ground transportation in a 12-passenger van.  If you choose the airlines, there are two carriers that dominate the domestic market in Argentina—Aerolineas Argentinas and LAN Argentina.  These are your best options, since national airlines are prone to unreliability and frequent schedule changes.  You can fly into the following national airports: Corrientes, Bahia Blanca, and Rosario.  Drive times depend on the distance of your Argentina duck hunting lodge from the airport, but none of the drive times exceed two hours.

A charter flight is the most direct way to get to your lodge, and a method becoming more popular every season.  When you plan a trip to go duck hunting in Argentina, it pays to stack the deck in your favor as much as possible when it comes to ensuring that you will face as few logistical challenges as possible—and charter flights are a step in the right direction, since they are unaffected by the whims of the airline managers, and labor unions.  Furthermore, if you have six or more members in your group, the price of a charter is seldom more than 10% to 20% more than what you would normally pay for an airline ticket to one of the national airports in Argentina—and that is why it is becoming the preferred way to fly for many of our clients booking waterfowl shooting trips in Argentina, as well as Uruguay duck hunting trips.

The final option (which is actually the first option of some log-time veterans) is a ground transfer.  Unfortunately, there are no high quality, consistent, duck hunting trips near the city of Buenos Aires—requiring a rater lengthy ride to the estancias (the lodges that are often used for duck hunting in Argentina).  The drive times are six to eight hours in most cases, and although the highways are safe from criminals, driving is not the preferred method for the faint of heart—since Argentines ignore speed limits, and often pass with incredible bravery.

We recommend flying whenever possible, but it is nice to be able to drive if the situation warrants.  It is worth noting that driving in Uruguay (a country that is roughly the size of Arkansas, making drives much shorter) is quite a different proposition—the roads are impeccably maintained, drivers are courteous, and speed limits are enforced vigilantly, making Uruguay duck hunting an attractive option for those who do not wish to fly an extra leg, or endure long drives.
