Here is a brief description of the Los Gauchos
El Sauce/Hotel Parque Oceanico: Los Gauchos
has put Uruguay on the map as the top destination for
duck hunting. Our location in Uruguay, a private rice
farm is ideal for the variety of ducks one comes to
South America for. Los Gauchos El Sauce Hotel Parque
Oceanico has the option of Perdiz hunting in the afternoon.
This location is 5 star and we welcome non-hunters.
The hunting is ducks all day or the option of Perdiz shooting in the afternoon. Los Gauchos hunts on a private rice farm that provides some of the best duck hunting in South America.
The accommodations are 5 star. An estancia/hotel located on the Atlantic Ocean with an indoor heated pool and hot tub as well as full service restaurant and bar.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the land package
price is required to reserve your specified dates
at the Uruguay El Sauce/Hotel Parque Oceanico.
When you are ready to book this trip, you

Parque Oceanico right here on Adventurix. You may

At El Sauce/Hotel you may shoot decoying ducks all
day if you wish, or opt for a PM Perdiz option.
We use English-speaking guides and Labrador Retrievers
for all duck hunts: only two hunters per blind—with
no crowds or "party shooting".
The Los Gauchos/El Sauce duck hunting region is located
near flooded rice fields close to the Brazilian border.
The 200 square miles of wetlands surrounding our location
are a wintering ground for hundreds of thousands of
divers and puddle ducks. Uruguay duck hunts are as
consistent as any destination in Argentina or Mexico,
and these ducks have never seen duck decoys before.
Perdiz are hunted in the afternoons as an option to
ducks. The lesser Tinamou—named "Perdiz"
in Latin America—is slightly larger than a bobwhite
quail. These birds are distantly related to the ostrich,
and stick their heads down in a similar way in order
to hide from predators by blending in perfectly with
the grass; they are so adept at this that they are
capable of hiding in grass that is a thin as the rough
of a golf course fairway.
