THE TRIP

Geographical Location: Western Mexico

We invite you to enjoy first class bird hunting and lodging at our hotel located on Mexico’s west coast.  This charming region of Mexico is unforgettable, and the fine hospitality and sheer beauty will forever bring back fond memories.

The dove hunting season is open—and the shooting is excellent—
from October until March.  During this same period, most hunters choose not to miss out on the high-volume Mexico duck hunts.

Getting to Los Mochis is easy.   There are daily non-stops from the USA to Los Mochis (LMM) from Los Angeles (LAX), Tucson (TUS), and Phoenix (PHX), and all fights are less than 1.5 hours.

THE HUNT

Our Standard Dove Hunting Trip includes a total of 6 dove hunts (3 full days of Mexico hunting, and 4 nights at the hotel).

A short version of the Standard Dove Hunting Trip is available.  This trip includes a total of 4 dove hunts (2 days full days of Mexico hunting and 3 nights at the hotel).

Sinalopato furnishes Benelli and Beretta 12 ga. shotguns free of charge.  You may bring your own shotguns if you wish, for an additional charge (more information below).

The largest marsh areas in Sinaloa and Sonora, are just forty minutes away form our Mexico duck Club—Sinalopato. There are 200,000 acres of marsh, both inland tidal, at our disposal.  Our well-maintained fleets of airboats deliver you to the dry-blinds quickly and safely, eliminating the need for hip boots or waders.

One of the best things about duck hunting in Western Mexico is that there are more than  17 species of waterfowl here including: Pintail, Widgeon, Gadwall, Redhead, Canvasback, Pacific Brant, Cinnamon Teal, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Pichiguila (Fulvous Tree Duck), Black-bellied Tree Duck, Mexican Mottled Duck, Shoveler, Scaup, Bufflehead, Ruddy Duck, and a few Mallards.

Some of our marshes are only 20 minutes from the hotel; others are further, up to 40 minutes. When hunting the north marshes on the ocean, you will stay out all day, breaking for lunch at our house on the ocean or other facility nearby.

Heavy rains and full reservoirs make irrigated farming possible on land that has only been dry farmed for many years. This means bumper crops with lots of food to keep the birds in the area.

Our long duck season extends into March, and our generous bag limits, make this one of the top spots in North America to hunt ducks.  Sinalopato is a great place to hunt all season long, but especially after the seasons close in the U.S. For the collectors, the birds are in full plumage in January, February and March.

With our large population of resident birds, hunting is also excellent in the early months of November and December and the birds receive little to no hunting pressure.

THE ACCOMMODATIONS

Upon arrival at the Los Mochis International Airport, you will be immediately met by a member of the Sinalopato staff, and whisked into a waiting automobile, for your free ride to the beautiful and elegant Plaza Inn Hotel and Convention Center.  The hotel is a five star property, containing restaurants, bars, and even a nightclub.  The drive from the airport to the hotel takes only twenty minutes.

Upon arrival at the hotel, guests will be offered a welcoming margarita, or cocktail of their choice.  After a simple registration process, guests may relax into their deluxe rooms.  Lodging at Sinalopato is based on double occupancy, but single occupancy rooms are available for an extra charge (more information below).

On the first night, you will dine in the Mr. Owen's Restaurant (located in the hotel). The jumbo shrimp and tortilla soup prepared by our gourmet chef is out of this world, and it is accompanied by fine labels brought up from our wine cellar, followed by a delicious dessert—a fine segue to settling in for a much needed rest to ensure that you are prepared for your first morning of bird hunting in Mexico.
